Fund Raiser Donation

i recently painted a few things as a donation for a fund raising auction to benefit Rawhide Rescue (which is where i adopted Bob from) i put everything in a box wrapped in paw print paper---of course i forgot to take a picture of that! But the rescue group loved it---i hope it helps them raise some $$$!

i adapted the design from a Laurie Speltz pattern:

a few special orders

You are not imagining things---debdogz did indeed paint some CATS! The customer loved them! i was so happy about that!

Jewelry Hanger

Played around with a wood plaque & Mod Podge---what fun!

Here's what i did---

Base coat a piece of wood (i used a scrap piece i had tried wood burning on)

Cut decorative scrapbook paper

Mod Podge the paper to the wood

Hammer nails at the bottom third of the wood - leave space for dangling jewelry - then glue some BLING to the ends of the nails

Staple a coordinating ribbon to the the back of the plaque

and it's done! GREAT gift for a teen Diva!

Enjoy!

The Rally frames were a special order.

Boy...this ain't easy!

It's another H-O-T one today...and i had an outdoor flea market to do. Yikes! i managed to sell one item...but again this was mostly "yard sale" stuff and not hand made art. So people were looking for bargains.

i'm going to persevere though...maybe try to find shows billed specifically as craft shows, because clearly when you ask about what a flea market is selling---and the person in charge says ALL sorts of regular vendors - someone is incorrect!!!! lol

Oh well...i have some customer orders to do anyway...that will keep me busy!

Still trying!

Got a HeavenScent home party today...not sure how i will do as i never seem to sell much at these home things. Claire does very well with her jewelry though! i am looking forward to next Saturday to sell at the Barron Arts Center in Rahway...gotta do some more painting so i can add to my inventory! better get busy!

Taking "The Plunge"

Well...i decided to do the Etsy-thing! i am not selling as yet---but it just seemed like a good fit for me. i like the idea of it being a certain type of item allowed to sell (handmade, etc)...and i feel E-Bay is too much of a hassle. So i will still put up items here & keep my public (lol) informed and then just make a link to my Etsy shop...when i am ready!

i also received my order of business cards from VistaPrint---really nice! i am almost feeling like a business person! haha!

First Time Selling

So...today was my first day sitting at a table selling my things. i was at a fundraiser for Rawhide Rescue. i made 2 sales & also have a couple people that will e-mail me an order. Altho' the venue did not have very many actual crafters (mostly flea market stuff) i was still happy i did this. It was a learning experience...i met many nice people...and i was glad to have people stop at my table & admire my work whether they bought something or not.

i am definitely going to make some business cards, and also i do think it's time for a selling website---maybe Etsy?

Just some playing around with the wood clothespins from AC Moore. The inspiration came from all my dog magazines. They can either hold a photo or whatever on a desk i guess. They were fun to paint!
